BUFFALO HONEY HOT WINGS AND TRADITIONAL BUFFALO HOT WINGS








What You'll Need



  • 24 chicken wings with skin (approx 3 pounds), rinsed and patted dry
  • Rub

  • One teaspoon ground celery seed
  • Two tablespoons baking powder
  • Two tablespoons brown sugar
  • Two teaspoons black pepper
  • Two teaspoons chili powder
  • Two teaspoons garlic powder
  • Two teaspoons ground cumin
  • Two teaspoons onion powder
  • Two teaspoons salt
  • Two teaspoons smoked paprika
  • Traditional Buffalo Hot Wings Sauce

  • 2/3 cup Frank's Hot Sauce (NOT hot wings sauce) mixed with 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • Hot sauce unites with a touch of molasses for the traditional hot wings flavor
  • One tablespoon butter
  • One tablespoon molasses
  • Buffalo Honey Hot Wings Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2-3 tablespoons Frank's Hot WINGS sauce (NOT traditional hot sauce like above) mixed with 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • Honey is the dominant ingredient in this sauce for sticky hot wings while still being hot by using Hot WINGS saucet
  • One tablespoons molasses
  • Two tablespoons butter
  • Buffalo Mild Honey Hot Wings

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup Frank's Hot Sauce (NOT hot wings sauce) mixed with 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • One tablespoon butter
  • One tablespoon molasses
  • Optional for hotter wings: 1+ teaspoons Hot Wings Sauce
  • This sauce is the "in between" of the above sauces - more mild heat than traditional hot wings due to the addition of honey and the use of regular hot sauce (NOT hot wings sauce). If you like hotter wings add some Hot Wings Sauce


How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  2. Line baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Top baking sheet with baking rack/oven proof cooling rack and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together Rub Ingredients. Add half of the Rub to a large freezer bag.
  5. Add half of the wings and shake until coated evenly.
  6. Line wings on prepared baking rack so they are not touching.
  7. Add remaining Rub ingredients and wings to freezer bag and repeat.
  8. Bake on upper middle rack for 45-50 minutes.
  9. Move oven rack approximately 6-8" from broiler and broil to desired crispiness, watching closely so they don't burn. Flip chicken wings over and broil the other side until crispy.
  10. The prep for all of the sauces is the same.
  11. **While wings are cooling, melt butter over medium heat.
  12. Add remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  13. Reduce to a simmer until slightly thickened, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  14. Taste and add additional hot sauce for spicier sauces/more honey for sweeter.
  15. When chicken is done, add to a large bowl and pour over sauce.
  16. Gently toss wings with a spatula until evenly coated.
  17. Serve with desired Blue Cheese/ Ranch Dip, etc. dip
  18. Dig in!
