Orange Cake

This is one of my all-time favorite foods, After doing some research I found this recipe and I have made it in the past and it is absolutely delicious!




What You'll Need



  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour/cake flour, preferably all purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp orange rind

How to Make It

  1. Take 1 cup juice from orange and keep it aside.
  2. Meanwhile preheat oven to 180 degree C (350) and grease and flour a standard baking tray.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, cream for about 1 min.
  4. Add in 3 eggs and cream again, about 2 min or until fluffy and creamy.
  5. Add in sifted flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and salt.
  6. Finally add in the 1 cup of orange juice and cream or fold lightly; the batter should be fluffy and spongy, not loose..so when you add orange juice..add accordingly until you get the consistency.
  7. Batter should be fluffy and creamy.
  8. Lastly fold in the orange rind.
  9. Bake in preheated oven to 180 degree C for 30-35 min or until done.

  11. Using fresh orange is important.
  12. Bring all ingredients to room temperature.
  13. Preheat oven to 180 degree C before baking.
