Chocolate Chip Snack Cake

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk (I use whole milk in baking)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cups chocolate frosting
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • Extra chocolate chips and chopped nuts for decorating the top, if desired

How to Make It

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium size bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and eggs.
  3. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
  4. Then fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool and then frost the top with chocolate frosting.
  8. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips on the top, if desired.
